Uganda's rich biodiversity is not only a national treasure but also a vital pillar for sustainable development, environmental resilience, and economic growth.

In this spirit, I am honoured to present the Uganda Wildlife Research and Training College (UWRTC) Strategic Plan 2025/26–2029/30 under the theme: Innovating Wildlife Training and Research for Sustainable Development and Biodiversity Conservation.

The Uganda Wildlife Research and Training College (UWRTC) extends its heartfelt gratitude to all stakeholders whose unwavering support, collaboration, and commitment have been pivotal in the development of this Strategic Plan.

We sincerely thank the Governing Council for their strategic oversight and dedicated leadership that continues to guide UWRTC toward institutional excellence and long-term sustainability.

We are especially grateful for the policy direction and technical support from the Ministry of Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities, National Council for Higher Education, National Curriculum Development Centre, Uganda Wildlife Authority, National Planning Authority (NPA), and the Ministry of Education and Sports. Your input has ensured that our strategic focus remains aligned with national priorities and sectoral aspirations.

We acknowledge the Uganda Tourism Board (UTB) in promoting and contributing to the development of the tourism sector both within and outside Uganda and recognize the critical role of local governments and community stakeholders in supporting our outreach and conservation initiatives.

To our alumni, student leaders, and current students—thank you for your energy, ideas, and commitment to excellence. Your engagement has shaped a student-centered and forward-looking strategy.

Lastly, we appreciate the consultant and facilitators whose expertise and guidance enriched this strategic planning process. Your contributions have laid a firm foundation for UWRTC's future growth and impact.

Together, we remain committed to transforming UWRTC into a centre of excellence for wildlife research, training, and community engagement, contributing meaningfully to Uganda's development and global sustainable environmental goals.
