Mr. Robert Baluku
Mr. Robert Baluku is a seasoned wildlife conservationist, education professional, and institutional leader with over two decades of experience in wildlife health, tourism management, training, and public sector administration. He currently serves as the Principal of the Uganda Wildlife Research and Training College (UWRTC), where he has played a central role in strengthening training systems, institutional governance, and wildlife research capacity in Uganda.
Prior to his appointment as Principal, Mr. Baluku served UWRTC as the Ag. Principal, from 2010 to 2016, Dean of Students from 2008 to 2009. Beyond UWRTC, he has been a Board Member for Uganda Business Technical Examination Board from 2020 to 2024
Professionally, Mr. Baluku has over a decade of experience in wildlife education and research. He served as Principal Instructor at the Uganda Wildlife Research and Training College from 2008 to 2016, after initially joining as an Instructor from 2005 to 2007. Before this, he gained practical research experience as a Research Assistant with International Care Uganda from 2004 to 2005 and began his career in education as a Teacher at Kasese Secondary School from 2000 to 2003. This diverse experience has equipped him with a strong blend of academic, teaching, and research expertise in wildlife management and conservation.
Throughout his career, Mr. Baluku has demonstrated strong leadership in academic administration, curriculum implementation, student affairs management, and national education governance. His professional expertise spans wildlife conservation, wildlife tourism management, environmental monitoring, institutional leadership, and project coordination, making him a key contributor to Uganda’s wildlife education and conservation agenda.
